Scuba Diving in India:

Excited and on your toes for an enthralling experience? So, here’s our list – the best places for scuba diving in India to come first. And if it is not here, you can give it a miss.

Most of the scuba diving at the Andaman Islands takes place in the south from Havelock Island or Neil Island. The coral belt surrounding the Elephant beach is home to rich marine life. The best year for diving in Andaman & Nicobar Isles is from Nov to April. However, one can indulge in a diving experience all throughout the year.

The beautiful calm lagoon in the island is ideal for scuba dive beginners. Open water outside the reef is equally beautiful. The best time for scuba diving in Lakshadweep is between the months of September and May as the weather is really pleasant and the circumstances. Agatti, Bangaram and Kadmat islands are the three islands that prove a perfect setting for the Scuba. Each dive centre has attached resorts catering to the needs of beginners as well as those interested in CMAS and PADI courses by certified divers. The islands are also enriched with a diverse variety of tropical fishes, vibrant corals and other creatures like turtles, rays and coral sharks.

Grand Island is located in Goa, a former Portuguese colony known for its pristine beaches, exciting nightlife, shopping, churches, parties and festive atmosphere. Divers get to sample a different side of India’s southwestern coast, which has little current activity and clear visibility. It is known for its shallow water which attracts newbie divers. October to mid-May offer the best water temperatures.

Locals know this tropical city famed for its architecture, churches, temples, and French-style avenues is an underrated dive spot. Its shores are alive with sea snakes, lobsters, dolphins, and turtles year-round, and offer the opportunity to dive with whale sharks in the months of May to August.

Kovalam, a small coastal town in the south, is a popular destination within Kerala for scuba divers. The water is clear and gives a glimpse into rich sea life. You can spot shoals of anchovy and silver moony, Moray eel, and fishes like puffer fish, butterfly fish, box fish, and rabbitfish. The best water conditions are from September to February.
