Gangtok in 2 Days

Incredibly alluring, pleasantly boisterous and wreathed in clouds - Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is one of the most popular hill stations in India.

Day 1:

9:00 AM - Start your day by visiting the Char Dham Temple. It is located in Solophok Hill and is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in Sikkim.

11:00 AM - Next, head to the Gangtok Ropeway. It is a cable car ride that offers stunning views of the city and the surrounding mountains. The ride takes around 15-20 minutes.

12:00 PM - After the ropeway ride, you can have lunch at one of the nearby restaurants or cafes.

2:00 PM - In the afternoon, visit the Ban Jhakri Falls Park. It is a beautiful park with waterfalls, gardens, and sculptures depicting the traditional beliefs and practices of the local people.

4:00 PM - After exploring the park, you can head back to your hotel or spend some time shopping at the local markets. This day plan will give you enough time to explore all three places without rushing through them. However, do keep in mind that the timings may vary depending on the traffic and crowd at each location.

Day 2:

9:00 AM - Start your day by visiting Bakthang Waterfall. It is located just 3 km away from the city center and can be easily reached by taxi or private vehicle.

10:30 AM - After spending some time at the waterfall, head towards Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park. It is located around 6 km away from the waterfall and will take approximately 20 minutes to reach by car.

11:00 AM - Explore the zoological park which is home to various species of animals including snow leopard, red panda, Himalayan black bear, and many more.

1:00 PM - Take a break for lunch and try some local delicacies at nearby restaurants. 

2:00 PM - After lunch, head towards Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple which is located around 12 km away from the zoological park. It will take approximately 40 minutes to reach by car.

3:00 PM - Visit the temple which is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, an Indian army soldier who died near the Nathula Pass. The temple is considered as a holy site and attracts a large number of tourists.

4:30 PM - Return back to your hotel after a long day of sightseeing.
