# Nohkalikai Falls, Meghalaya
It is said to be India’s 5th highest waterfall and the falling of water on a rock base from a high cliff is a treat to watch. It looks like a lady who gave it this name. According to the tale, Likhai – the lady was a widow with a child till she remarried. The envious husband cooked the child and gave her the food. Understanding what he had done, she ran and jumped down the cliff. While you can only witness the waterfall from far, it is enough for you to escalate the wild stream that appears between the greens and falls over.
# Akashiganga Waterfalls, Assam
Akashiganga is a great waterfall located near to Dabaka City, at the Dabaka-Dimapur Street of Assam. Boasting of delightful environment and spectacular background vistas, Akashiganga is considered a sacred place associated with Shakti conspiracy of Kalika Puran.
The Akashiganga waterfalls results in a stream known as Bablang. The place is a revered pilgrimage location for Hindus who visit in very large numbers on the day of the Makar Sankranti, which is called Magh Bihu in Assam, to take bath in the holy waterfall to wash off their sins.
# Nuranang Falls, Arunachal Pradesh
Also known as Jang falls or Bong Bong Falls, Nuranang waterfalls are located nearly 40 km from the city of Tawang. These waterfalls are located at a height of around 6000 feet and are one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in Arunachal Pradesh. River Nuranang emerges from the northern slope of Sela pass and takes the form of Nuranag waterfalls before adjoining River Tawang. # Elephant Falls, Meghalaya
Situated on the outskirts of Shillong, it is a two-stage waterfall set in the dingles of the rocks. These curved falls have an eye-catching beauty and the surrounding green vegetation makes it a perfect picnic spot. This beautiful fall is made of three smaller falls and the mixes stream decorates the fern-covered rocks underneath. Locally, it is known as Ka Kshaid Lai Pateng Khohsiew, the actual meaning of which is-‘Three Steps Water Falls’. The present and the more popular name have its origin in British times when the Englishmen dotted a giant rock that appeared like an elephant near the fall.
# Triple Falls, Nagaland
Triple Falls are picturesque waterfalls located in the village of Siethekima in Dimapur. They are basically conjunction of three waterfalls that lay beside each other in a scenic setting. The white water falls down from a huge height of 280 feet through the stones that make it look soothing to watch. Triple Falls are a great destination in Nagaland and visiting this place is second to none.
