1. GANGA LAKE

Dreamscape’ is the word that does justice to the exquisiteness of this lake located at a distance of approximately 6 km from Itanagar. This charming water body sits against the backdrop of lush green jungles blooming on towering mountains. Attracting locals and tourists in great numbers, Ganga Lake is among the most scenic places to visit in Itanagar.

2. ITA FORT

One of the old and renowned marvel of ancient religion, located in the Papum Pare district, the Ita fort is an important tourist spot. Ita Fort literally means the fort of bricks as 'Ita' means brick in the Ahom language.

3. NAMDHAPA NATIONAL PARK

One of the chief natural reserves of Arunachal Pradesh, the Namdhapa National Park lies under the shadows of the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas. It plays home to numerous diversifies flora and fauna.

Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum reflects the history and the culture of the region. The museum houses unique woodcarvings, handicrafts and musical instruments. The library in the museum has a wide range of books.

4. RUPA

An alluring hill station at 20 km from Itanagar and will surely make you crave for more. Rupa is totally untouched by mankind. It is on the banks of river Tenga. Take an early morning or late evening drive along the Rupa border to experience the stunning beauty of the place. You can also visit the tribal village of Shertukpen to experience the local life.

5. ITANAGAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

It is at a distance of 10 km from the city of Itanager. Public transport is easily available to reach the place. Itanagar Wildlife Sanctuary is known for its flora and fauna. The most common animals found here are the musk deer, Himalayan black deer, red panda and porcupine. A rare variety of monkeys is also found here. This sanctuary houses a number of hornbills too.
