48 Hours in Darjeeling: Top Things to Do

Day 1:

9:00 AM - Start your day by visiting the Darjeeling Mall. It is a popular shopping destination and offers a variety of shops selling local handicrafts, souvenirs, and clothing.

11:00 AM - Next, head to the Darjeeling Clock Tower. This iconic landmark is located in the heart of the town and is a great spot for taking pictures.

12:30 PM - For lunch, you can try some local cuisine at one of the many restaurants near the clock tower.

2:00 PM - After lunch, take a taxi or walk to the Peace Pagoda. This beautiful Buddhist temple is located on a hilltop and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
 
4:00 PM - Spend some time exploring the temple and its surroundings. You can also take a short hike to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area.

10:30 AM - Next, head to Ghoom Monastery (Samten Choeling). It is one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Darjeeling and is famous for its 15 feet high statue of Maitreya Buddha.

12:00 PM - After exploring the monastery, take a break for lunch at a nearby restaurant.

1:00 PM - Post-lunch, visit Rock Garden, Darjeeling. It is a natural waterfall and garden located about 10 km from Darjeeling town. The garden has several terraced levels with different types of flowers, plants, and trees.

3:00 PM - Finally, end your day by taking a ride on the Darjeeling Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway. It is a cable car ride that offers breathtaking views of the valley and the surrounding mountains.
