2. THE PROMENADE - A BLESSED WALK ALONG THE COAST
The glorious promenade of Pondicherry is located along the striking seafront with a rocky beach. It is one of the happening areas in Puducherry and is located in the heart of the city, making it feasibly reachable. The promenade is a 1.2km long strip that starts from the War Memorial and terminates at the Dupleix Park on Goubert Avenue, and a walk along the promenade is generally on every tourist’s program.
There is a great statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the middle of the promenade. Made of black stone, this four-meter statue is a landmark here and becomes the witness to various cultural and musical activities being organized here.
