Dabeli is a dish that is quite popular here in Gujarat. It is known to have its roots in the Kutch region of the state. This tantalizing dish is prepared using crushed potatoes and a unique Dabeli masala, which is then inserted inside pav (burger buns) and enjoyed with chutney. One of the most popular places to have this delicious snack is Bhai Dabeli in Vadodara city. 



Undhiyu is a one-pot vegetable casserole dish that is the signature dish in Gujarati vegetarian cuisine. 

The name of this dish inherits from the Gujarati term "undhu", which means upside down, as the dish is usually cooked upside down underground in earthen pots, named as "matlu", which are ignited from above.

Various restaurants serve Undhiyu in Ahmedabad and all the Gujarati restaurants serving thalis include this delicacy daily in their menus, particularly during winters. When in Gujarat, you can’t choose to miss the queen of delicacies – Jalebi. These pipes hot sweet rounded things are prepared by frying the rings in hot oil. If you want to get the real taste of it, Bhuj is the place where you should head to. 

It is said that the jalebis here are very crisper and tasty. 



When any conversation happens around Jalebi, it remains incomplete without its much-loved companion, Faafda. In the state of Gujarat, this much like butter or bread. If there is jalebi, faafda must be there. 

Just hop at any of the street food stalls and you can savor the sweetness of jalebi with faafda. 



Dhokla- by the name only it appears a Gujarati dish. As told before, the taste of Gujarati dish is slightly sweet and salty. The Dhokla is a famous street food as well as the most widely consumed snack by the locals here. It is made up of corn flour and there is a special oven for it to be cooked.
Dhokla is a very prominent dish of Gujarat which makes it notable. Although it has a simple recipe, it tastes like heaven. There are many varieties of Gujarati Dhokla like Steamed Dhokla, Suji Dhokla, Channa Dal Dhokla, Rice Dhokla, Khatta Dhokla and lots more.


Khandvi is another signature snack of Gujarati people. It is prepared using besan and salt. It is the dish which is less time taken but requires a lot of handworks. The taste of Khandvi is both sweet as well as salty. It is served hot with the garnishing of crushed coconut and fresh green coriander.  Children love it from the bottom of their hearts.
