Watching a boat race in Kerala is an exhilarating experience that offers a glimpse into the vibrant culture and tradition of the region. These races, known as Vallam Kali in Malayalam, are held annually during the monsoon season, primarily from July to September. 

The most famous among these races is the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, held in the Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha (Alleppey). This event attracts thousands of spectators from around the world.
