FTR - For The Record

Taking inspiration from Japan's storied listening bar culture, For the Record (FTR for short) is Goa's first vinyl bar, inviting guests to enjoy hi-fi tunes while drinking delicious cocktails. Located in a Portuguese-era building in Panjim, owner Buland Shukla (who is also an audio engineer, jazz musician, and architect) opened the low-key bar with a top-of-the-line sound system, an extensive record collection and a tight but thoughtful list of seasonal cocktails that celebrate Indian ingredients. Feni, a liquor made from the fruit of the cashew tree that is typically made in Goa, is especially prominent on the menu, mixed with everything from beets and amaranth to persimmons and ginger. As with many Japanese record bars, the decor inside is minimal, allowing the drinks and music to do the talking.
